Victor Pasmore
1908 - 1998
Pasmore studied at Harrow and moved to London in 1927. He became a member of the 'avant-garde' art world whilst working in local government. Ten years later he joined Claude Rogers and William Coldstream and started an art school but soon, with the support of Kenneth Clark he was able to devote himself entirely to painting.
To begin with his work was mostly Whistlerian landscapes and portraits until he began to experiment with pure abstract forms. From 1960 he exhibited at many international museums.
In 1966 he moved to Malta and began experimenting with printmaking which was to become a major part of his work
