Laurence Edward's familiarity with the process of bronze has not lead him to pursue conventional finish for its own sake; not for him is the sort of finely polished surface associated with much sculpture. Instead he has chosen another path, one which relishes experimentation and technical innovation.
Many different materials are utilised to make one of his sculptures, wood ,clay, palster, wax, flints and glass and many other seemingly fragile materials are given permanence by means of a crucible. |
