Fred Ingrams

Fred Ingrams’ most recent work inspired by the flat emptiness of the Fens is full of colour and reflects the Fens’ colourful myths, stories and people. Born in 1964, Fred Ingrams was a student at Camberwell and St. Martins Schools of Art.

Fred Ingrams exhibited in central London galleries during ten years spent painting above Soho’s Coach & Horses pub. He worked as an Art Director and Graphic Designer in the magazine industry for titles including Vogue, the Sunday Times, Tatler, The Field and House & Garden.

In 1998 Fred Ingrams relocated to Norfolk where he draws and paints landscapes and nudes, with his most recent work focusing on the Fens. He is fascinated by how unpopulated they are and how their flatness alters the perception of distance.
