Endre Roder was born in Hungary, spent his childhood in Malta and has since lived in England. His work is characterised by strong design and a rich sense of colour informed by his East European and Mediterranean background. His figures combine great style and structure with a sensuous lyricism that results in, at the very least, beautiful decorative painting, and at its best, in work of considerable emotive power.
